Privacy policy
Last updated: September 21, 2026
This policy explains how ExpenseSaviour processes information when a Shopify merchant installs or uses the app.
Information we process
- Shop identity, store currency and timezone, authenticated app sessions, installation state, and app settings.
- Supported aggregate Shopify reporting metrics requested by the merchant, such as net sales, returns, discounts, recorded product costs, gross profit, and eligible payment-fee totals where available.
- Expense entries, recurring-cost schedules, import summaries, budgets, source labels, confidence labels, coverage states, and sync timestamps.
- Limited operational logs needed to secure and maintain the service.
Customer data
ExpenseSaviour is designed around aggregate store reporting and merchant expense records. It does not request customer names, customer email addresses, phone numbers, or postal addresses for its expense reporting features.
How information is used
Information is used to show clearly sourced operating-expense views, schedule recurring costs, prepare monthly comparisons, identify missing cost coverage, prevent duplicate processing, and maintain service security. Missing or unavailable values are not silently represented as zero.
Manual entries and imports
Merchants control the external expenses they enter or import. Source and confidence labels are retained so manual, imported, recurring, estimated, and supported Shopify-derived amounts remain distinguishable. Merchants should not upload customer personal information, passwords, bank credentials, or payment-card details.
Service providers
Shopify provides app authentication and authorized store reporting data. Application and database infrastructure may be hosted by Render. We do not sell merchant or customer data or use it for third-party advertising.
Security, isolation, and retention
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Production session tokens are encrypted at rest, and app records are isolated by Shopify store. Expense and recurring-cost records remain available until changed or deleted through the service, the app is uninstalled, or retention is otherwise required for security or legal reasons. Stored app data and sessions are deleted following uninstall and Shopify's required shop-redaction process, except where a limited retention period is legally or operationally required.
Your choices
Merchants can manage app settings, delete manual expense records, discard CSV previews, remove a committed CSV import with its associated rows, and manage recurring rules. Generated recurring history remains in the ledger when its rule is deleted so prior reports do not silently change. Merchants can uninstall ExpenseSaviour from Shopify Admin or contact support for verified access, correction, or deletion requests.
